Naughty Bus is being Naughty again!

Image
Tuesday 19th September 2023               Naughty Bus! Naughty bus was back this morning and was causing chaos all over school! After receiving a letter from the police station the Tigers had to follow clues to track down Naughty Bus. We noticed that he had left wheels all around the school along with pictures of him doing all these naughty things! Through our investigations we found out that he had messed up Mrs Chapmans office, messed all the books in the library up, he had been swimming in the toilets sink, he had made himself a hot chocolate in the staff room and he had even been in the kitchen and spilt yoghurt and flour all over the floor. What a naughty bus! Next we wrote down all our clues, ready to inform the police station.

Colour Carousel

Colour Carousel! Today the Tigers have continued with our ‘Mix It’ project by experimenting with all the ways we can mix the primary colours to create secondary colours. We used different techniques such as using paint rollers, sponges, stamps, and paper folding to explore how colours can be mixed indirectly from print making. We then created our own stamps out of clay to experiment with further.

Naughty Bus!

Friday 8th September 2023    Naughty Bus!  Naughty Bus has been especially naughty today!  The Tigers arrived this morning to find that the classroom had been all messed up- we immediately suspected that this could be something to do with Naughty Bus.  We noticed that Naughty Bus had left a trail of wheels around the school leading us to his hiding place up in the woods. It turns out that Naughty Bus had been taking things from around school and we found him playing in slime and glitter! What a naughty, mischievous bus! We decided that this has to stop so we have all wrote him a letter to tell him that if he would like to visit again then he needs to keep our classroom tidy and respect our school.

Mix It Up 🎨

Wednesday 6th September 2023 Mix It Up! Today, as part of our new Art and Design project ‘Mix It’, the Tigers have been experimenting with colour. We started by reading ‘Mix It Up’ by Herve Tullet, as a starting point to help us identify the primary and secondary colours and to observe basic colour mixing theory. We then went to go and experiment with the paints to find out what happens when we mix colours before sharing our findings with the class. We used the technique of mixing equal amounts of primary colours to create secondary colours using the water, wipe and apply method.

A Naughty Bus Journey! 🚌

Wednesday 6th September 2023  A 'Naughty Bus' Journey!  To start our new book, Naughty Bus, today the Tigers arrived at the classroom to find that it had been transformed into a bus station! We headed to the ticket office to buy our tickets but first we had to read the timetable to see where we would be going- we decided on London! The bus was very late, and we were left waiting at the bus stop! When the bus finally arrived, our driver took our tickets and we set off on our interactive journey. We thought about the things that we could see and hear on our journey, comparing our bus trip around London to what it would be like on a bus in our local area based on our own experiences. We shared our own experiences of journeys on buses with the class to be able to answer questions such as ‘how do you pay?’ ‘Where do you catch a bus?’ and ‘why do people use buses?’ to then answer these with our partner to add to our class working wall.
