PSHE- Trash or Truth

Image
Tuesday 28th November 2023  Trash or Truth!  Being ‘heartsmart’ means knowing the difference between the truths and lies that we hear. Today, the Tigers have put that into practice by playing trash or truth. Firstly, we read a story all about Boris the Robot in which the Scrap-Man said some very hurtful things about Boris! As we sometimes hear things that are not true we have to think of whether to believe it. The children used the mystery bag to choose a statement before either sticking this on our truth board or throwing it in the bin!

Tuesday 14th November 2023  Character Descriptions  Today, the Tigers have been using adjectives to describe the Water protectors in our new story. We came up with some amazing and thoughtful words to describe how brave these people are. We even discussed the fact that these characters are resilient, motivated, imaginative and that they aspire to do great things to protect their land. It is great to see the children making connections between our school values and our curriculum.

Tuesday 7th November 2023  We are Water Protectors! Today, the Tigers arrived in class to find a river and lots of paper fish swimming around our classroom. After discussing the title of our new story, ‘We are Water Protectors’ we discussed why water is important and special. We talked about all the reasons why we need to protect the water on our earth. On the fish and waves we wrote sentences about why water is important and needs to be looked after, before decorating our river with vocabulary all about water.

Tuesday 7th November 2023  Our Wonderful World: Directional Language Today, the Tigers have been learning all about directional language. Firstly, we discussed what directions we could use when describing to someone how to get somewhere such as walk forwards, stop, turn left and turn around .  Next, we worked in small groups to see if we could follow these directions- but we were blindfolded! The aim of the game was to get your partner from one side of the space to the other also dodging all the objects. We decided that for us to be successful we had to show excellent listening and team work and be very very specific with our directions!
