 As part of our transport topic, we have been looking at boats represented in art work. The children identified ways in which various artists depicted water, including blurry reflections. The children created their own artwork based on boats on water, concentrating on reflections as well as ensuring sky, ground and water all met with no gaps between them. 

  We are thrilled to be able to visit church again and had a wonderful afternoon today learning about advent. Giraffes did a great job of decorating the church Christmas tree and we were made to feel very welcome by members of the church community. 

As part of our transport topic, Tigers created car sound journeys. For inspiration, we watched this Honda advert  and discussed the different elements that we heard. The children then had an opportunity to explore a wide range of tuned and untuned instruments, experimenting with ways in which they could reflect the noises of a car journey. When thinking about the noise of rain on a car roof, the children learned about tempo and how playing at different speeds could show the rain getting heavier. They then put the different sounds together to create a cohesive journey on paper. Finally, the children performed their composition, following a conductor and showing a great deal of concentration and enthusiasm.
