In the week before half term, the y2 children had been exploring measure. We have been measuring in both cm and meters.

Plants - leaves
Tigers have been looking at leaves as part of their ‘Plant Parts’ Science unit. We learnt about the parts of a leaf as well as different types of leaf. We went on a leaf hunt to find as many different types of leaf as possible. We then created some artwork by doing leaf rubbings. This really helped us to see the veins in the leaves.
Tens frames- with bananas! 🍌
This week the Y1 children have consolidated their learning of subtraction using tens frames and bananas.
Invertebrates 🐞🐛🐜
As part of our ‘animal parts’ topic in Science, today the Tigers and bears have been investigating mini-beasts as invertebrates. We found lots of different mini-beasts. We compared and identified the key features of an insect using our learning from our animal groups lesson.
