 During Science this afternoon, the infants designed and made habitats for their chosen animal, considering their needs.  After looking at different macro and micro habitats, they then predicted where a variety of animals live in our school grounds. The children then investigated to see if their predictions were correct.

 The infants have been learning the characteristics of living things in science. We learnt the acronym MRS GREN to help us remember all 7 features living thinngs must have. This week, the children reminded themselves of all the characteristics, making up actions to help them. They then investigated which living things we have in our school enviroment- checking with MRS GREN. 

 As part of DT, the juniors are learning about food and nutrition. This week, they made soup, chopping and cooking a range of different vegetables then blending them together. It's a great way to eat lots of vitimins and minerals to keep our bodies healthy and strong!    Our Forest schools project over the next few weeks is to adapt wooden logs and branches to use during playtimes as an obstacle course, for building etc. This week, the childen sawed the thinner branches part the way through. They then split the wood to take a chunk out so the branches could slot onto a log as part of an obstacle course.   

This half term, the juniors are playing tag rugby in their P.E sessions. This week, we played some hand eye co-ordination games then practicing some skills including throwing the ball backwards, whilst avoiding being tagged.  Balloon- hand eye co-ordination games                                                                   Practicing passing backwards and running for the try line                                                                   

  Time capsule We've really enjoyed getting back together over the last few days, catching up about the summer and establishing our class routines. This morning, we buried a time capsule, outlining our hopes and aspirations for the year ahead.
