Toys through time - shop window art
As part of our Magical Toys topic, Tigers have been looking at how toys have changed over time. As well as bringing in their own toys to share and discuss, the children also brought in toys from when their parents and grandparents were young. They have had some fantastic discussions about how the toys have changed, including inventions that have had a dramatic effect on the toys available.
The children have now applied all of this History knowledge to a special piece of art. They looked at The Toy Shop by Peter Blake (1962), which depicts a toy shop window, for inspiration for their artwork. They then used their historical knowledge of toys, and examples of the toys they had shared, to make each window pane celebrate a different era of toys.
