Mother's Day

 On Wednesday, Tigers class planned and led our Collective Worship, based around Mother's Day.

They collectively wrote an acrostic poem, each coming up with a line about how special the mums and mother-figures are in our lives.


Wonderful Mums

Wonderful Mums.

Every day my Mum takes me to school.

Love is special.

Our mums are super special.

Vert very kind.

Everywhere we go, we love our mums.

Our mums are caring.

Utterly nice mums.

Really lovely.

My mummy is kind to me.

Utterly amazing.

My mum makes the best burgers.

Super mums.

The children also performed a song which I am sure they will happily serenade you with at home:

Yellow daffodils, Yellow Daffodils,

Swaying to and fro.

A little bit of sun,

A little bit of rain,

Will help the daffodils grow.

Blue forget-me-nots...

Purple crocuses...

Tigers then invited the rest of the school to join in with a piece of collective artwork, sending messages to all of the wonderful mums and mother-figures in our community. This was displayed in the playground on Thursday but you can also take a look here:

Representing the Christian Creation Story

 Y1 and Y2 have been learning about the Christian Creation story this half term. This week, they worked in teams to represent each part of the story.  The children have been exploring what this story means to Christians, reminding them about what God is like, and feeling grateful for the wonders of the world we live in. We thought about how this story might inspire people to be creative, or to care for the Earth and its creatures, or to study the world in order to understand it better. Many Christians see the story as a poem. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth. Summer 2!

Welcome to Summer 2! Wow! Doesn't time fly? We are now in our final half term of this school year. The new home-learning timetable is up. Don't forget to email me with any updates or questions. I've missed you all so much during this unusual time but it's been wonderful to speak with you and your families and know that you're all getting on so well.  It's been brilliant to see snippets of what a couple of you have been up to over half term.
