A Little Piggy visitor
Tigers class received a letter on Wednesday saying that they had an overdue library book (Wolves by Emily Gravett) which needed to be returned immediately. The children searched in our classroom, thankfully finding the book quickly, then we headed to the library to return it. Whilst in the library, Mrs Chapman popped out for a moment and a Little Pig wandered in! The pig explained that she was very confused because she kept hearing lots of different things about wolves and she wasn’t sure what the real facts were. She said that she had felt very scared when a wolf blew down her house of straw but that somebody had suggested that the wolf may just have had a bad cold and sneezed. She desperately wanted to find out the truth about wolves so that she could put everybody’s minds at ease. The Little Pig had to leave and Mrs Chapman arrived back into the library shortly afterwards. Together, they formed a plan to help the Little Pig. They searched the library for books about wolves then together wrote a letter to the Little Pig explaining they they will help her to learn the true facts about wolves. Tigers then read some of the books together, including a 3 Little Pigs story where the wolf had a cold!!
The children will now learn how to sort out fact from fiction so that they can help the pig.
