A Mystery Bear
On Tuesday, Tigers class found a little bear in our classroom. It was sitting on a picnic blanket with a bucket and spade. The children looked at clues and discussed their thoughts about what we'd found. The children deduced that the bear was old and we talked about how special items are sometimes passed down through members of a family. We learnt about family trees to help our understanding.
The children spotted that the bear had some initials on its foot and we talked about how labels can help to identify a bear, thinking about some famous bears that we know such as Paddington. The children were each then given a teddy to write a label for. We worked on making our writing as perfect as possible, including capital letters for names and ensuring we were applying all of the spelling rules that we know.
