4-beat rhythms

This afternoon, Tigers composed and performed their own 4-beat rhythms. They created their own notation and performed 3 sets of their rhythms for the rest of the class. The children loved exploring different ways of making sounds with their bodies and were reflective about those methods that made it tricky to stay in time.

We are Water Protectors!

Tuesday 7th November 2023  We are Water Protectors! Today, the Tigers arrived in class to find a river and lots of paper fish swimming around our classroom. After discussing the title of our new story, ‘We are Water Protectors’ we discussed why water is important and special. We talked about all the reasons why we need to protect the water on our earth. On the fish and waves we wrote sentences about why water is important and needs to be looked after, before decorating our river with vocabulary all about water.
