Designing and building bridges

On Monday morning, Tigers arrived into the classroom to find a poster advertising a competition to design a bridge to cross the River Thames. The bridge must be able to open to let boats go through it. The children were given time to form some ideas then they worked in groups to build an opening bridge together out of junk materials.

We have experienced what life was like before electricity in our homes.  We have had hands-on experience ironing, washing clothes, experiencing with old inventions and cleaning up! Science in the park

 This week in our Science lessons, the Y2 Tigers have gone down to the church with the Bears to observe and draw various trees - evergreen and deciduous alike. It was great to spend an afternoon out in the fresh air!
