George told me "Mr Handley blew up the balloons and we sent them upto the sky to our friends" When I asked him about the balloon on the way home. which I thought is really lovely idea to do with the children.
On Tuesday, Mrs Chapman loved reading about The Naughty Bus with Tigers class. We came up with a simple storyboard together along with some descriptive phrases to help us to retell the story. The children then retold the story to their partners, using playdough props.
What a wonderful afternoon we have had with ‘The History Van’. We have experienced what life was like before electricity in our homes. We have had hands-on experience ironing, washing clothes, experiencing with old inventions and cleaning up! We have also wrote a post card using ink with a penny black stamp.
On our first afternoon back after the holidays, the Tigers have been experimenting with different media before working towards creating their own sketches. We tried and tested different types of pencils, graphite pens and charcoal to create different effects.
