Exploring Whitby 🏖🌊

Today, the Tigers took a virtual tour of Whitby to investigate the human and physical features that are present in a coastal town. Firstly, we used our knowledge of keys to help us read and understand the Whitby Map before taking a walk on Google Earth. We located Human Features such as the Abbey, shops and hotels as well as physical features like the beach and cliffs. 🏖⛱ We also decided that those 199 steps to the Abbey do look rather tiring!

We are Water Protectors!

Tuesday 7th November 2023  We are Water Protectors! Today, the Tigers arrived in class to find a river and lots of paper fish swimming around our classroom. After discussing the title of our new story, ‘We are Water Protectors’ we discussed why water is important and special. We talked about all the reasons why we need to protect the water on our earth. On the fish and waves we wrote sentences about why water is important and needs to be looked after, before decorating our river with vocabulary all about water.
