Babbling Vagabonds - puppet-making

On Wednesday afternoon, Tigers had a puppet-making workshop with the Babbling Vagabonds. They looked at making puppets that would help them to tell the story that they created in their morning worshop.

We revisited vocabulary from our Science unit on materials; discussing the words 'transparent' and 'opaque'. We talked about how the shadows are made, thinking about light travelling in straight lines.

The children did a wonderful job of drawing and cutting out their puppets then practising putting them in front of the torch to make a shadow. We looked at how the distance of the puppet from the torch affected the size of the shadow.
